Under counter espresso machines

Modbar, Mavam etc. Are they as good as a conventional machine? Servicing issues?

…interested in this as well. I’ve had espresso from a Modbar at Pilot Coffee Roasters in Toronto, Canada and it tasted quite good.

I do remember though watching the barista prepare it as it was ‘counter-height’ so it looked uncomfortable for them to crouch at the machine. This has nothing to do with the equipment though, just poor planning from the Interior Designer…

Good to hear, I had a very similar experience. Excellent espresso from a custom built Synesso. It just got me thinking about the logistics of such a machine. Surely there are drawbacks to the design like plumbing. Would be great to read a few reviews.
