I know the general consensus here is now that Flat Bur Grinders is king, but seriously are we done advocating for conical bur grinders? Maybe we can find ways to improve with the usage of those type of grinders.
I am not! Not sure about others. Flat burr grinders may be better for the 3rd wave style, lightly roasted coffee, but my preference from a flavour perspective is for conical burrs - but then I roast, sell and drink traditional, normally roasted coffee. I dont think conical burr grinders will be going out of use in the majority of applications. There is an element of FOMO that causes cafes to rush out and install a flat burr grinder with no real idea of why or what it can do.
